Background

Our client is an organisation that specialises in the care sector and helps monitor and improve care standards within communities.

A long standing client, BCS have looked after their IT needs through a number of changes to their needs and proactively ensured they are as secure, efficient and flexible as they can be.

 

Requirements

Due to its nature the care sector requires a high level of administrative documentation. The applications and storage were previously handled via the traditional in-house server which BCS maintained along with the rest of the IT estate ( Pc’s and printers etc ).

Due to the server reaching end of life a decision had to be made whether to renew it and the capital expense that would incur.

Solution

BCS introduced the possibility of migrating the users to Microsoft Office 365. Microsoft offer Not For Profit organisations extremely compelling pricing options against the commercial pricing which can be paid for as a monthly subscription and avoids the large capital expense.

Office 365 also provides secure document storage facilities using One Drive and Sharepoint as part of the subscription.

Data Backup

To ensure the organisations data is as secure as possible there is also an off-site data backup solution employed so that any disaster recovery operation could be deployed quickly and with the minimum of fuss to the organisations operations.

Support

We also still provide the traditional aspect of IT support by regular visits to ensure everything is as it should be and take care of any issues with the in-house estate.
